TEAMMATE MANAGED SATURDAYS
One aspect of training at this compound that we want to seriously lean into is developing confident, competent, and independent teammates. While it will always be the responsibility of a coach to prescribe workouts that make sense and to keep the class on track, there is great value in allowing you guys to run the show.
As all of you long-timers know, Saturdays are intentionally designed to be a laid back day—an opportunity to just workout and not feel the pressure of having to be super methodical and/or intense. That makes Saturday a perfect day for me to work towards handing you, the members, the keys to the gym (quite literally), and let you take charge.
The rationale behind this is fairly simple: the more that you practice independence, the more confident you become; the more confident you become, the less you second-guess yourself; the less you second-guess yourself, the more intense you train; the more intensely you train, the better your results will be.
As you’d imagine, these teammate-managed workouts will be simplified and fully explained to members who volunteer to run these particular classes. As we inch closer to March, I will take note of individuals, who express interest in volunteering for this opportunity and lead.
In closing, I truly aspire to further turn this compound into something more unique, more impactful, in ways that go beyond the basics of improved physical fitness and discipline. I want to be a part of something that changes lives, deeply, and I can’t do it without you.
